CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (TND) — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was involved in a car crash Tuesday morning while traveling to an event in Tennessee, his campaign confirmed to The National Desk (TND).
The incident occurred while DeSantis was en route to an event in Chattanooga, Tenn. The governor and his team are "uninjured," DeSantis Press Secretary Bryan Griffin told TND in a statement, though authorities say one female staffer sustained minor injuries.
Chattanooga police told WTVC the incident involved four of DeSantis's motorcade cars and no civilian vehicles were hit. The accident occurred on the southbound side of I-75 near the exit for Tennessee Route 153, according to WTVC.
DeSantis is currently traveling the country as part of his 2024 presidential campaign.
