June 2024 · 2 minute read

It was a soggy weekend for much of Idaho this past weekend, new record rainfall amounts reported for Boise and Twin Falls. On Sunday, 0.46" of rain was recorded beating the previous record of 0.42" from 1911. Twin Falls also had record rainfall of 0.28" beating the previous record of 0.13" from 2017. The mountains saw significant snowfall over the weekend with nearly two feet reported at Bogus Basin and Tamarack ski areas, nearly an inch of moisture, in all, for much of the Treasure Valley.

After all that moisture over the weekend, we're still seeing a few showers in the region this morning as a warm front is sliding through the Gem State. A mix of partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected in the afternoon with warmer temperatures. Daytime highs Monday will be in the mid-50's for much of the valley, mid-40's for the mountain valleys.

Active weather will return to the mountain regions late Tuesday as another weather maker is expected to move in. This next storm will bring valley rain and mountain snow showers. Snow levels are expected to fluctuate between 5,000-7,000 feet through Wednesday with up to a foot of snow possible above 7,000 feet. Mountain valleys will see rain and snow Tuesday evening through Wednesday evening, accumulations in the mountains valleys will be between 1-4 inches.

Unsettled weather will continue Thursday with additional valley rain and mountain snow showers. Drier weather is expected to move in starting Friday and should continue into the weekend. Temperatures are expected to drop to near average highs beginning Thursday and remain near there throughout the weekend.
